The goal of this activity is to look at sample web lessons for FL learning and assess their pedagogical potential based on the guidelines for technology integration that we have discussed in class. With your partner, choose two lesson plans that look interesting to you and then discuss their pedagogical appropriateness using the questions below:

1. Is this lesson "teacher-determined," "teacher-facilitated," or "learner-determined"?

2. Is the computer used primarily as a "tutor," a "pupil," or a "tool" in this lesson?

3. Is the use of the internet justified in these activities or would another method meet the learning objectives equally or better?

4. Does the activity take full advantage of the internet environment? How could it take better advantage of the resources available on the web?

5. Do you think this activity would motivate your students? Why or why not?

6. Do the activities engage learners in real-world and meaningful tasks as well as in a variety of skills (e.g., communicative, reading, cultural explorations, writing)? What are examples?

7. Do the activities provide opportunities for both input and output in the TL? Do the activities provide opportunities for social interaction?

8. How do students demonstrate what they have learned?

9. In what contexts would this lesson be pedagogically appropriate to use, given the guidelines that we've discussed?

10. Would this lesson be most appropriate as an in-class activity or would it be better done as an out-of-class homework activity?
